Travel – Markets in Venice, Italy
It’s amazing to arrive in Venice by train, walk through the station and be greeted by a sight better than you imagined. This picture is taken just around the the corner of the Venezia Santa Lucia Station.

This was a lovely shop to buy fresh ingredients to combine a selection of mixed meats and cheese to go with our crusty baguettes. Washed down with local red wine this made a really yummy lunch.

The morning markets were fascinating, Australians don’t get to see cactus fruit (the large pink spotted fruit) or Sword fish for sale. We had some sword fish steaks for lunch in southern Italy a few weeks later, it was very enjoyable.

Here’s a Sword fish being sliced up and prepared for sale.

Walking around the markets were very interesting, because it was all so different.

This Gondolier was enjoying his morning paper, coffee and warm sunshine as we went past.

Hi Mick,
My husbands family are from Arena, I’m not sure what is more beautiful the scenery or the lovely people who live there…
I hope we are lucky enough to see Arena and his family again this decade.
Kind Regards
Janette
