Travel – Busselton, Western Australia
Busselton Jetty was looking as pretty as a picture this week…
In the cute little blue timber buildings are
the infomation centre, musem and
the underwater observatory.

A panorama of a loan fisherman on Buselton Jetty just
before sunset heading out along it’s length
to catch tonights dinner.
I think Sepia looks good for this image, it simplifies things.

This is a black & white panorama of Busselton Jetty.
Busselton Jetty is the longest wooden jetty in the Southern
Hemisphere and is 2 – 3kms in length. From memory it was
used to get timber from the Karri and Jarrah forests of
Western Australia loaded on to ships to be exported
to the rest of the world via a train that ran on
the old jetty out to the ships lying in the
deep water at the end of the jetty.
Travel Tip: A visit to the
underwater observatory gives you a fish’s eye view
of the beautiful marine life that lives under the jetty,
including schools of fish, sponges and corals.
The jetty is under repair until early 2010, but
you can still access the museum, information
centre and the first 200m of the Jetty.
