Travel – Rotnest Island, Western Australia.

After a friend spotted some black smoke, we ran up the beach towards the main jetty. When we arrived this boat was well and truly on fire – check out the heat haze.

They were pumping water into the boat and didn’t seem to be making much progress. Then the wind caught the boat and started blowing it towards the jetty where a hundred or so people were watching the drama. There was also a ferry tied up to the jetty as well – scary stuff…

Once the emergency services arrived and started using foam they put out the flames quiet quickly.

Good work fellas ;-)

Standing in the shadow of the Lighthouse I took 8 photographs to create this panorama. Enjoying nothing but the sound of the waves the gives you a wonderful sense of tranquility. It was a beautiful way to end a big day of bike riding and snorkeling.

This is the main lighthouse on Rottnest Island you usually come across it when you ride around the Island on a push bike.
